This is the fourth event in Islington in our exciting series of monthly Vehicle Idling Action Days in the borough. The Idling Action Days will ‘pop up’ in a designated hotspot in each borough and after an initial briefing, will last for approximately 2 hours.
For this event our team of volunteer Vehicle Idling Action Champions will gather at Paradise Park next to St Mary Magdalene’s School, and during the event we hope to have on display our giant air quality eco action snakes & ladders game which can be played by the public. Using the game and positive public engagement techniques, volunteers will engage with the local community while pairs of volunteers walk around the streets in the local area, engaging with drivers who are in idling vehicles and encouraging them to switch off.
We are currently recruiting a team of enthusiastic volunteers who want to be part of this innovative education and behaviour change campaign to reduce localised air pollution and improve air quality in their residential and workplace community.
If you want to be a Vehicle Idling Action Champion in Islington please join the Project Dirt site and the Islington Vehicle Idling Action Project – we will then send you further info. Alternatively fill in the form on the Volunteers page of this website.
Please note: all volunteers must also attend one of our training sessions prior to the Action Day. Please get in touch if you have not been able to attend a training session but would like to come to an Action Event.
